Re: Issues after Migratrion
I have downloaded the latest VMware tools 10.1.5 and installed them but it did not make a difference.
I then uninstalled all tools completely to see if it makes a difference and it didn't make any difference.
A screen shot I provided in my previous post shows VM without VMware tools installed.
I tried repair as well but to no affect. The VMware Tools not running message did not come back but VM is still running slow.
When I remove VMtools I delete its folders in Program Files and DataPrograms.
Can you explain what is the issue with VMXNET3?
I thought that when I remove tools it removed VMXNET3.
How do I remove tools completely using CLI?
Re: vSphere Client (HTML5) discussion/screenshot thread
Is there a way to test the HTML 5 client on an existing 6.0 setup or as its a web client, is the only way to run it is to upgrade vCenter to 6.5?
Thx

Re: VCSA v6.5 HA with External PSC. Load balancer required?
Hi. VMware support just confirmed a load balancer was not needed. We just dont have one at this site, but want to do ELM with another site. I realize that while vCenter HA will automatically failover (we have tested that), that a failed PSC will need to have vcenter manually pointed to another PSC. I cant see any problems with that, and hopefully the guy on the other end of the phone was correct too! Thanks,,,
Re: uninstall fusion 8.5 trial version and install fusion pro 8.5 trial - failing
thanks for the reply mikero,I raised this with vmware and they gave me a pro license key for 30 days, so thats now working all fine . .
in terms of the IP addresses (network setup), the only way that I am able to do my lab setup is with the custom network tab on the pro (under vmware fusion > preferences ), this isn't even available on the normal version . . .
all is good now , but thank you very much for the time , very much appreciated . . .
Re: Vsphere Default user and password
If you're talking about the vSphere ESXi, the default local user is root, but there is no default password, during the installation a password must be defined. Old vSphere ESXi versions can be installed without the root password, but to connected through the vSphere Client, the root password must be defined after the installation.
Re: Issues after Migratrion
OK, I think I understand a bit more now than I did with my earlier reply. It looks like you're using the E1000 nic, so you can disregard what I said about vmxnet3. I initially thought you were saying that you already had vmware tools installed at the same time you were getting messages that vmware tools needed to be installed, so that was my misunderstanding.
A few things to check:
I'm not sure you can do any more to wipe out vmware tools than you already did. One thing you could do is go to Device Manager in Windows and view hidden devices. You could have old vmnics or other devices in there that you don't need.
How do you have the CPU/MMU Virtualization set on CPU in the Hardware tab? Also, under the options tab, do you have the correct OS chosen for the vm?
I know it's counterintuitive, but have you tried cutting the CPUs down from 10 to 2 just to see if you get normal response on the VM without it running any cpu intensive apps?
Re: Deploying OVF from local datastore - prompted for username / password?
You need to put the username and password of the VMware account that is used to buy the product
Hope it helps

Re: UDLR with multiple default routes using locale ID
I know there was a workaround as on page 128 for static routes and single VC (using API to add static and default routes for each site).
Page 128:
- Deploy a UDLR instance with Local Egress enabled and no Edge Appliance
- Enable ECMP on the UDLR
- A NSX REST API call must be made to configure a default gateway via the first Locale ID
- A NSX REST API call must be made to configure a static route for 0.0.0.0/0 via the second Locale ID
I tried this with 2 VC's and was not able to get it to work.
I got this error: 'edge appliance needs to be deployed'
The guide does not state this can be done with 2 VC and static routes, only single VC and static routes.
Not 100% sure it is supported with static, maybe only dynamic.

Workstation 12.5.4 / Win 2012R2 VMware Tools (vtread-4) 0xc0000005
Bonjour,
