Shutdown and no shutdown of interfaces was tested and no change in problem.
Reinstallation was tried - and no change in problem.
I have now tried to install VMware Workstation on two totally new installations of Windows 7 - and I can recreate the error partially.
As shown in the attached screen shoots - I have made two "Virtual Host Adapters" - both with a custom IP subnet.
On each installation the adapter VMnet1 get's a weird IP address in the 192.168.x.0 range - although I have choosen a subnet of 10.1.0.0 for that specific VMnet.
The VMnet8 works until now as it should - correct IP settings.
Can anyone confirm my suspision that VMnet1 with a host adapter and custom IP net settings does not work?
As to the why - I cannot use 192.168.x.0 area because it is already used and known where the computer is set up.
Best regards
